Welcome to Tout de Suite Cafe, a delightful breakfast haven nestled in the charming Algiers Point neighborhood of New Orleans. Located at 347 Verret St, this café has garnered a dedicated following for its warm atmosphere and remarkable culinary offerings. As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I couldn’t resist diving into the culinary treasures that await within these walls.
What sets Tout de Suite Cafe apart? The reviews speak volumes. Customer Monica Mellini raves about the "Best. Breakfast. Ever." She refers to their grits as "smooth and creamy," expertly seasoned to perfection—an essential dish that embodies the very essence of East Coast culinary tradition. And let’s talk about the biscuits; they are light, fluffy, and simply delicious. If you’re seeking a breakfast that combines tradition and comfort, you need look no further.
Beyond the food, the experience at Tout de Suite Cafe is equally superb. Kentrell Charles describes it as a "great little gem," highlighting the vibrant energy of the staff who greet you like family. It’s not just brunch; it’s an experience that starts the moment you walk through the door. The café serves up a menu bursting with homemade pastries, each telling a story of care and craftsmanship that elevates the breakfast experience.
Mike Lynch enjoyed the “half order of biscuits and sausage gravy and a blueberry pancake,” emphasizing the freshness and friendliness that characterizes this local joint. The staff’s genuine warmth, enhanced by thoughtful fare, creates an environment that beckons customers to return, day after day.
Curiosity led Zachary Frieben to explore Tout de Suite Cafe’s offerings, where he delighted in the "Poche," a dish paired perfectly with flavorful Boudin—a Southern staple he had yet to try. His recount of the moist cinnamon roll and strong, invigorating macchiato adds another layer to the café's allure, demonstrating the attention to detail in each dish served.
With its welcoming atmosphere, exceptional breakfast menu, and a commitment to quality, Tout de Suite Cafe is not just a place to grab a bite; it’s a celebration of flavor and community. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and indulge in a breakfast that truly feels like home.
“ Best. Breakfast. Ever. The cup of grits is smooth and creamy, seasoned to perfection. Stop looking for decent east coast grits and just go to Algiers Point. In the photos the biscuit looks dark. It is perfect, exceedingly light and fluffy and delicious. Don't miss this. ”
“ Great little gem in the neighborhood. The energy is high as the staff welcome you inside. The food is delicious and served hot. The fresh HOMEMADE pastries are some of the best. I can’t say enough about this place- you just have to go. ”
“ Great local cafe with an awesome breakfast menu! I had the half order of biscuits and sausage gravy and a blueberry pancake. Delicious! Staff was friendly both at the order counter and when bringing food to the table. There were also at least 3 employees who said goodbye to us when we left. ”
“ Feels like a nice local joint. Serves very good breakfast. Prices are decent. Does not serve alcohol. ”
“ Came here for breakfast on Wednesday. I was excited that it was only four minutes from our Airbnb and had seen that it's top-rated. I was hungry, so I I ordered the Poche, a cinnamon roll and a Macchiato. It was my first time trying Boudin, we don't get that in Michigan. That with the Poche was so good! The Boudin itself is very tasty, and combined with that sauce and the grits it's wonderful! The cinnamon roll hit the spot too. It was moist with a great flavor throughout, not just with the frosting. The macchiato will wake you up, it's very strong, albeit good! ”
“ This is an amazing establishment for locals and tourists alike! Serving up amazing drinks and food, the staff here greet you with a smile. TdS (as I like to abbreviate it) is great if you're looking for a coffee to wake you up or if you want a nice breakfast with someone special! There are menu options to satisfy everyone and delicious baked goods as well. My husband and I are beyond happy that we can just walk 2 blocks over from our house to frequent TdS often! ”
“ A secret nestled in Old Algiers. Great service, good food, friendly people. It's a local spot. It can seat about 40 people inside and maybe another 10 outside. Lines are long. Very ducked off!! 10/10 ”
“ What an absolute delicious breakfast restaurant my beautiful girlfriend and I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the Abbeyville plate. We’re traveling through town and this is definitely a local spot. Highly recommend recommended worth going across the Mississippi river. However, keep your eye out for this creeper out front of the restaurant, taking pictures of your girls butt and walking his dog as an excuse ”
